Logistics Business Development Manager

Join a leading company specializing in global supply chain solutions as a Logistics Business Development Manager. This remote position requires candidates to be based near San Diego, CA, offering flexibility with a connection to major urban and business centers. You will be responsible for developing new business, expanding our services portfolio, and maintaining robust relationships in the market.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Expansion:

Develop and expand business in domestic and international ocean and airfreight sectors.

Client Solutions:

Analyze client needs to deliver customized logistics solutions with a commitment to service excellence.

Comprehensive Services:

Manage and grow transportation services, including warehousing and distribution.

Prospecting:

Actively prospect new opportunities within the assigned sales territory to increase business volume and exceed revenue targets.

Sales Management:

Plan and execute weekly sales calls, manage a targeted sales list, and maintain robust business relationships.

Profitability:

Drive profitability improvements and revenue increases within the designated territory.

RFP Handling:

Handle RFPs, prepare SOPs for customer instructions, and identify new business opportunities through proactive outreach.

Pricing Strategies:

Develop pricing strategies and deliver compelling sales presentations.

Representation:

Represent the organization in sales meetings and engage key customers through strategic entertainment and relationship-building activities.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field, or at least 5 years of relevant industry experience.

Proven track record in sales within the transportation and logistics industry.

Experience in freight forwarding; international business experience is a plus.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and Salesforce, with advanced networking capabilities.

Active participation in industry-related organizations is highly regarded.

Ideal Candidate:

At least 3 years of experience in freight forwarding, with a focus on multi-modal operations such as air and/or ocean freight.

Strong business development skills and a robust existing network of contacts.

Ability to plan effectively and manage schedules.
