Logistics Clerk

Key Responsibilities:

Receiving and Shipping:

• Managing the flow of goods in and out of a facility, including unloading, unpacking, and verifying items against orders.

Inventory Management:

• Tracking and maintaining accurate inventory records, performing cycle counts, and ensuring proper stock levels.

Order Fulfillment:

• Preparing orders for shipment, including packing, labeling, and preparing necessary documentation.

Data Entry and Documentation:

• Maintaining accurate records of shipments, inventory, and other logistics data using relevant software.

Communication and Coordination:

• Liaising with various departments (sales, purchasing, etc.) and external parties (carriers, vendors) to ensure smooth operations.

Problem Solving:

• Identifying and resolving issues related to shipments, inventory, or processes. 

Skills and Qualifications:

• Clerical Skills: Strong organizational, record-keeping, and data entry skills are essential. 


• Attention to Detail: Accuracy is crucial for tasks like inventory management and order fulfillment. 


• Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication with colleagues, vendors, and customers is necessary. 


• Computer Proficiency: Familiarity with logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite is often required. 


• Physical Ability: May be required to lift and move packages, depending on the specific role. 

Education:

A high school diploma or equivalent is usually the minimum requirement, with some roles requiring an associate's or bachelor's degree in logistics or a related field.
