Brief Company Description
AGC Heat Transfer, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Alfa Laval, AB, is the leading OEM of sanitary plate heat exchangers in North America, manufacturing plate heat exchangers specifically designed for sanitary applications. AGC offers complete heat exchangers, services as well as upgrades to plate packs, gaskets and spares that fit multiple brands.  In addition, AGC offers Field Leak Testing and inspections of plate heat exchangers that meet the 3-A sanitary standard.
 
AGC Heat Transfer consists of three manufacturing/service facilities (Bristow, VA, Fairview, OR & Pleasant Prairie, WI) with about 110 employees (70 OR / 20 VA / 20 other locations).  Currently, most of the sales are in the US & Canada.   AGC Heat Transfer has a strong engineering culture with a heavy emphasis on customer service and technical/consultative sales. 

Job Description

The Logistics Lead is a working lead responsible for driving daily priorities on the production floor and supporting the flow of materials through Shipping, Receiving, Kitting, and Inventory. This role is hands-on and requires strong organizational skills, inventory experience, and the ability to bring structure and standardization to our warehouse storage systems. The Logistics Lead supports the Logistics Supervisor and steps in when needed to ensure production stays on track.

Position Responsibilities
  • Drive kitting activities based on production priority and ensure kits are prepared and delivered on time. 
  • Maintain daily production schedule in accordance with plant wide schedule.
  • Work directly on the floor with the logistics team to keep materials moving efficiently between departments.
  • Coordinate with the Logistics Supervisor to communicate daily priorities and shifts in the schedule.
  • Support and participate in maintaining accurate inventory records and resolving discrepancies.
  • Support warehouse organization, including standardizing and maintaining racking and bin systems.
  • Perform routine audits of bin locations and inventory zones for accuracy and cleanliness.
  • Assist with material staging, pulling parts, and internal transfers.
  • Support regular cycle counts and inventory control activities.
  • Train and mentor team members in best practices for inventory handling and kitting accuracy.
  • Operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely and in accordance with AGC guidelines.
  • Act as a point of contact for interdepartmental coordination when the Supervisor is unavailable.
  • Uphold safety and 5S practices throughout the logistics areas.
  • Must be capable of filling in for both shipping and receiving duties when needed, including booking shipments, preparing paperwork, unloading deliveries, and checking in materials.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 yrs experience in logistics, inventory management, or a related role.
  • Experience with ERP systems (Macola preferred), including work order tracking and inventory movement.
  • Proficiency in warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, kitting and inventory processes.
  • Experience with inventory control practices, including cycle counting, bin location management and material staging.
  • Working knowledge of quality control procedures, especially dimensional inspection of vendors and machined parts.
  • Forklift certification or ability to become certified.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work on the floor in a physically active role.
  • High school diploma or GED required; additional technical training or certifications in logistics, supply chain or operations are a plus.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Prioritization & floor coordination: Able to drive kitting priorities based on production needs and ensure uninterrupted flow.
  • Leadership & accountability: Comfortable taking initiative, supporting team performance and stepping in for the supervisor when needed.
  • Communication: Able to coordinate effectively with other departments and leads using clear verbal and written communication.
  • Organizational skills: Maintains clear, consistent bin and rack systems; contributes to 5S efforts and inventory cleanliness.
  • Problem-solving: Quickly identifies issues in inventory, space management, or workflow and propose practical solutions.
  • Attention to detail” Diligent in maintaining records, labeling, and part movement. Must ensure accuracy in cycle counts.
  • Adaptability: Capable of jumping in to support shipping and receiving as needed, especially during peak times.
  • Team Collaboration: Works well with a cross-functional team and builds rapport with both peers and management.
  • Safety awareness: Understands and follows safety procedures, participates in safety improvements.
