Logistics Manager - Fast Hire

Emerge is actively recruiting for an exciting new opportunity with a fantastic client company in Medley, Florida. This position is being created due to company growth, and they are excited to add a Logistics Manager to their team. The opportunity provides a generous base salary and full benefits package including 401k with 100% match on 5% of salary! Onsite position.

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Logistics Manager with a positive attitude to work in a fast-paced environment. This position is responsible for arranging the product delivery to our customers by routing our branch fleet.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for receiving orders, processing paperwork, and creating delivery tickets daily.
• Prepare and reconcile daily trip sheets and load sheets.
• Assist the Branch Manager with inter-plant and special pick-ups and deliveries.
• Review driver logbooks and ensure their proper completion under DOT regulations.
• Review truck, tanker, and trailer pre-trip inspection reports and ensure their proper completion.
• Responsible for maintenance of the company fleet, including communication with our fleet maintenance.
• Utilize systems, reports, and monitoring devices provided by the company to better manage fleet, for example GPS systems.
• Establish and maintain delivery routes to optimize fleet operations.
• Issue equipment to drivers such as PPE, logbooks, and uniforms.
• Direct drivers' activities while on their routes.
• Responsible for reviewing fuel data and working with drivers and management to minimize costs.
• 24-7 on call, must be available to tend to the needs of drivers, routes, and equipment. Some weekend work required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises drivers. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; implementing controls and eliminating theft; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• One to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Experience in transportation logistics.
• Excellent communication skills in English; Bilingual preferred, English, and Spanish
