Job Description - Logistics Planner

Division and Unit Overview Matheson is a safety conscious company. The safety of our Employees, Customers and Drivers is our first priority and paramount to our daily operations. Matheson operates a network of 16 Air Separation Plants throughout the United States that manufacture liquid nitrogen, oxygen and argon.

Position Summary: The selected candidate will report to the Planning Supervisor. He/She will be responsible for scheduling truckload deliveries of liquid nitrogen, oxygen and argon in the most efficient and cost effective manner, while ensuring the highest level of safety and Customer service. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: determine Customer delivery requirements, record tank readings, ensure forecast accuracy, assess Driver/equipment availability, deconflict scheduling issues, communicate with Drivers, Terminal Managers, Plant Operators, Sales staff, and review daily plant inventory and production rates to determine product availability. Our Customers include: hospitals, electronics companies, government agencies, refinery plants, cylinder fill plants, welding companies, and food processing companies.

Required Skills: The selected candidate must be able to work well both independently and as part of a group in a fast-paced environment. He/She must possess excellent communication and analytical skills as well as be computer literate in MS Word, Excel and Outlook. He/She must be able to work weekends, holidays and work a rotating 4-3 schedule. A college degree and/or previous call center experience in a related field are preferred, but not required. Minimum of 5 years prior logistics experience in the transportation industry to include scheduling/building loads.
