JOB SUMMARY


The Logistics Project Specialist for new machines supports the Logistics Project Manager in the execution of DC01 - complete new machine filling line projects across North America. This role serves as the primary coordination point for shipment visibility, hub support activities, transportation execution, capacity monitoring, and logistics risk management. Responsibilities include supporting Krones' hubs in Houston, TX and Charleston, SC while ensuring efficient movement of materials from port arrival through final jobsite delivery.


 


The Logistics Project Specialist's primary responsibility will be supporting project logistics activities. As a secondary responsibility, the role will assist with SAP S/4HANA implementation initiatives across warehouse, shipping, receiving, logistics and trade compliance functions, including support for testing, training, process improvement, deployment activities, and user adoption. 


 


RESPONSIBILITIES


 


Project Logistics Coordination



  • Support execution of DC01 logistics projects and major equipment shipments

  • Track key milestones including EXW, ETD, ETA, Hub Arrival, and Jobsite Need Date (JND)

  • Maintain the DC01 Tracker and provide accurate shipment visibility

  • Coordinate logistics kick-off meetings and project reviews

  • Communicate shipment status, schedule changes, and operational risks to stakeholders


 


Distribution & Hub Support



  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipment activities through Houston and Charleston hubs

  • Monitor receiving activities, inventory visibility, shipment accuracy, and proof-of-delivery documentation

  • Support transportation planning and jobsite delivery execution

  • Coordinate with hub operators, carriers, and project teams to maintain material flow and schedule adherence


 


Capacity & Risk Management



  • Monitor hub floor utilization, available storage capacity, and inventory levels

  • Identify capacity constraints and support contingency planning

  • Monitor weather, hurricane, transportation, packaging, and port-related risks

  • Coordinate risk mitigation activities and escalate issues that may impact project schedules or deliveries


 


Stakeholder Management



  • Collaborate with Trade Compliance, Purchasing, Project Management, Engineering, Service Operations, and the Hubs

  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, warehousing partners, and customers

  • Serve as the primary operational contact for logistics coordination and shipment visibility


 


Compliance & Continuous Improvement



  • Support compliance with Krones logistics, customs, and trade policies

  • Participate in process improvement and logistics standardization initiatives


 


SAP S/4HANA Implementation



  • Assist Logistics and Trade Compliance Project Teams with the implementation of SAP S/4HANA 

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to define requirements, support testing and training, and drive successful deployment and user adoption

  • Identify and implement process improvements leveraging S/4HANA to enhance operational efficiency, inventory accuracy, compliance, and customer service


 


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, project management, logistics, supply chain, or a related field and 3+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, warehousing, distribution, or supply chain operations. In lieu of a bachelor's degree in a related field, a high school diploma with 5+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, warehousing, distribution, or supply chain operations is also acceptable.

  • Experience coordinating cross-functional logistics activities

  • Experience effectively communicating across multiple levels of the organization

  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite


 


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Distribution center or warehouse operations experience

  • International transportation and customs experience

  • Experience with freight forwarding, ocean freight, LTL/FTL transportation, and project logistics

  • Capacity planning and logistics analytics experience

  • SAP implementation 


 


JOB LOCATION / TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS



  • This is a remote position in the United States with regular project-dependent travel. 

  • Frequent travel to Houston, TX and Charleston, SC hubs as well as future hub locations.

  • Travel to Krones Inc. in Franklin, WI, customer jobsites, and logistics partners throughout North America as required.

  • Expected travel of 20–30% regularly, with potential for higher travel up to 80% during the first six months to support implementation and operational stabilization.
