Job Description - Logistics Supervisor

Summary/Objective 


Provide work directions to warehouse team and drivers to achieve safety, quality, delivery, cost and people objectives set by the customer and MAU. This will require the Driver/Logistics Supervisor to manage the daily tasks of inventory control and material movement at offsite locations and drivers.  


 


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:


This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday. Work hours may vary based on client needs, but the typical schedule is 7:30am - 4:00pm with occasional overtime as needed.


 


Essential Functions 


Customer Expectations 



  • Lead Pre-Shift Meetings  



  • Attend scheduled performance meetings with the customer 



  • Manage employee work assignments 



  • Communicate shift turnover effectively  



  • Perform Gemba walks throughout the shift (Process Compliance) 



  • Verify production via Hour by Hour reporting  



  •  Address issues that are below target 



  • Document corrective actions  



  • Respond / Perform special requests from the customer 



  • Address Concerns  



  • Provide Follow Up  



  • Ensure associate/colleague standard work is followed 



  • Ability to implement countermeasures and apply containment   



  • Ensure SOIs are maintained and being followed 



  • Ensure associate compliance with GMP, dress code and MAU policies 


 


Talent Management 



  • Sustain and support Leader Standard Work  



  • Be an agent of conflict resolution  



  • Management Crisis i.e.safety issues, injuries, property damage etc.  



  • Provide continuous training efforts to improve team performance

  • Ensure profitability by minimizing / eliminating property damage risk and managing overtime

  • Manage expectations regarding Site Safety and Quality rules  



  • Participate in continuous improvement projects when expectations aren’t met

Preferred Education and Experience 


3-5 years in Lead or Supervisory role in warehouse setting.  


3-5 years driving experience. 


 


Supervisory Responsibility 


This position manages all employees that are drivers for MAU at Lonza and is responsible for the performance management of the employees within that department.

Work Environment or Working Conditions


The working conditions and environments are created by our customer’s facilities both in administrative areas and manufacturing environments. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Customer sites sometimes include process manufacturing equipment and heavy power industrial vehicles. Environments may vary from non-temperature controlled environments to GMP clean room required.


 


Physical Demands


This position may require the following to be performed with or without reasonable accommodation:



  • Ability to lift 5- 20lbs periodically and 50lbs on occasion

  • Ability to stand/walk for up to 8 hours

  • Ability to climb stairs multiple times a day
