Job Title:  Logistics Support Team Member


Reports To: Logistics Coordinator


Position Status: Full Time


Compensation: Hourly, Non-Exempt, $24-26 (DOE)


 


General Job Description


The Logistics Support Team Member manages the flow of goods and materials by coordinating shipments and processing documentation. Logistics support will also route trucks safely and efficiently. They will organize backhauls and assist in reporting for fuel and mileage reports. They will utilize computer-based tools to ensure timely delivery of products.


  


Duties and Responsibilities



  • Responsible for ensuring all aspects of the logistics division meet any applicable state and federal regulations along with any company policies

  • Routes deliveries to maximize safety, efficiency, customer service and legal compliance.

  • Works with the Logistics Coordinator to ensure drivers are assigned to loads that are within their driving abilities

  • Updates customer delivery files and notes, creating appropriate action/routing plans to achieve desirable results in a timely manner

  • Works with sales to determine and adjust routes and assigned equipment based off of order volume

  • Organizes backhauls and communicates routes/loads to drivers

  • Actively engages in departmental communication and meetings

  • Knows all aspects of the routing system

  • Assists with quarterly, bi-annual, monthly and annual reporting for mileage and fuel along with any other required reporting.

  • Maintains files of collision reports, drug and alcohol testing, and other requirements set forth by DOT and FMCSA

  • Works with the lead mechanic to ensure equipment is maintained meeting any state and federal regulations

  • Ensures routing and other activities are compliant working with dispatch and the sales department

  • Maintains and operates J&J Keller including driver training for ELD

  • Collaborates in the creation and maintenance of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Other duties as assigned


 


 


Skills and Abilities



  • Must possess a CDL-A and have two years of over-the-road experience in the Northwestern Unites States. 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google suites. Ability to learn new software programs quickly and train others in the use of these programs.

  • Knowledge of safety standards, laws, and regulations relating to transportation.

  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of transportation planning, scheduling and route development.

  • Skills and ability in organization, time management, task prioritization and record keeping.

  • Ability to work well under stressful pressure and use sound judgment.

  • Ability to facilitate and promote conflict resolution.

  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with other professionals in a team setting.

  • Ability to interact positively and effectively with drivers, management and administrators.


 


Physical and Environmental Requirements



  • Must be able to remain in a seated stationary position for the majority of the workday.

  • Must be able to push full plant racks weighing up to 1000 lbs.
