Logistics Technician

BASIC POSITION DUTIES:

• Coordinates activities of the Shipping & Receiving component in our Materials Department to meet organizational objectives in the areas of productivity, quality, employee relations, safety, continuous improvement and equipment utilization.

JOB DUTIES:

• Assignment and coordination of in-bound & out-bound activities including transportation methods based on factors of size, cost, & customer requirements.

• Ensure equipment operation in compliance with established procedures, tracking shipments & input data into company & customer-based systems.
• Understands safe storage, identification, & handling of hazardous materials.
• Updates shipping manifests, certificates of origin, & bills of lading.
• Responsible for digitizing shipping documents to proper networks & files.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Graduate. 
• Additional education beyond high school preferred. 

SPECIAL SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE DESIRED:

• Strong ability to work autonomously with a level of judgment & discretion in duties. 
• Strong commitment to excellence.  Attention to detail is a must.

• Excellent communication & organizational skills. 
• Good problem-solving skills.
