Job Description - Long Island NY Private Chef

Become a Biochef at Biospan, where you'll create powerful, bespoke meals for private clients—working directly in their homes. Dive into a world of performance cooking and nutrition, handpicking the finest organic ingredients. You'll team up with nutrition experts, learn the art of nutritious meal prep, and directly see the life-changing effects your cooking has on clients.   • Seasonal: San Juan, Puerto Rico (October–May)

About the Client


Alan is a 36-year-old entrepreneur and parent, living a moderately active lifestyle. He works from home and seeks a personal chef to reclaim time, reduce decision fatigue, and optimize health. His goals are to lose ~10 lbs while gaining strength, maintain high energy throughout the day, and enjoy delicious, protein-forward meals that he’ll want to eat—even as leftovers.


Service Details




  • Onsite Cook Days: Once per week (preferably Monday or Tuesday, 8 AM–12 PM)




  • Meal Prep: 3 days' worth of food per visit for 2 adults




  • Meals Per Week: 18 (3 meals/day x 3 days x 2 people) + smoothies + wholesome snacks




  • Groceries: Client provides a weekly grocery budget of £300 (chef will shop or order as needed)




Dietary Focus




  • Clean, whole food meals with mostly organic, pasture-raised ingredients




  • Protein-forward and portion-controlled to support fat loss and strength training




  • Dairy-free (client is intolerant)




  • Avoids: mayonnaise, tomatoes, balsamic vinegar




  • Enjoys: chicken, avocado, rice, lean steaks, root vegetables, flakey fish




Sample Favorite Dishes Include:




  • Chilean seabass with roasted root vegetables




  • Asian-style chicken stir fry




  • Kofte meatballs with rice and red peppers




Travel & Flexibility




  • Chef must be able to adapt to the client's seasonal relocation to San Juan, Puerto Rico




  • A Puerto Rico-based chef may be assigned during this period (flexibility and planning support provided)




  • Must be comfortable with potential travel-related coordination and remote continuity




Compensation




  • Day rate compensation of $600 USD, excluding groceries




  • Includes: Subscription, chef service for 2 people, 3 meals/day + snacks for 3 days/week




  • Additional charges: groceries (client-provided card), glass containers, equipment if needed




Chef Requirements




  • Strong background in clean, nutrient-dense cooking




  • Previous private chef experience preferred




  • Familiarity with food sensitivities, portion control, and batch cooking




  • Professionalism, discretion, and excellent time management




  • Ability to coordinate groceries, prep, and meal storage with limited oversight




  • Comfortable integrating with other household staff and schedules




  • Must honor Biospan's non-solicitation clause (chefs may not be directly contracted for 24 months post-service unless contract is purchased)
