Under the general direction of the Long-Term Care (LTC) Manager, the Activities Director is responsible for the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of a comprehensive activities program. This program is designed to accommodate individual residents' interests and enhance their physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being, in alignment with comprehensive resident assessments.
Other duties may be assigned.
Design and implement an exercise program suitable for all residents.
Conduct one-on-one activities and visits with residents.
Develop and maintain a robust seven-day-a-week activity schedule, including crafts, shopping outings, musical groups, gardening, games, and outdoor events.
Coordinate with volunteer organizations, chaplaincy programs, and school groups, as directed by the Activity Director.
Introduce and implement new activity initiatives.
Assist with transporting residents to and from activities, appointments, and off-site events.
Contribute to resident care planning.
Assist with departmental communication, including correspondence, bulletins, and displays.
Maintain activity equipment and ensure sufficient supplies.
Record daily resident activity participation.
Under the direction of the Activity Director, schedule and take minutes for Resident Council Meetings; participate in RICC and QAPI committees.
Plan and coordinate seasonal and special events.
Maintain a clean and organized resident dayroom for meals and activities.
Support nursing staff in the dayroom, including assisting with intake and output (I & O) charting.
Administer activities for A-wing swing bed residents.
Adhere to the policies and procedures of Clark Fork Valley Hospital.
Network with other facility activity departments to share ideas and strategies.
Communicate tactfully and diplomatically with staff, families, visitors, and community organizations.
Work independently and under supervision as needed.
Be available to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and special events.
Demonstrate a genuine interest in working with long-term care residents.
Problem-solve resident-related concerns.
Maintain resident confidentiality and demonstrate discretion in all interactions.
Meet the physical demands of the job.
Be dependable, reliable, flexible, and adaptable to changing needs.
Follow appropriate lines of authority and communication.
Exhibit strong teamwork and collaboration.
Participate in in-service training and educational programs.
Be willing to perform additional duties as assigned.

High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate.
One to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must possess, or be willing to obtain and maintain:
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Activity Director Certification
