Job Description - Long-Term Early Childhood Substitute Teacher
ECE Subhub is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Long‑Term Early Childhood Substitute Teacher to support one of our valued client sites in Ann Arbor. This is an excellent opportunity for an educator who enjoys building relationships, stepping into established routines, and contributing to a warm, community‑focused early childhood environment.
This placement is at a center known for its welcoming culture, diverse staff and family community, and a strong team of long term employees who truly enjoy working together. The program is rooted in a child‑centered, play‑based approach that views children as capable, curious learners who construct knowledge through exploration, interaction, and hands‑on experiences. Educators who thrive here appreciate a collaborative environment where adults support children’s problem solving, encourage reflection, and help create a positive climate for learning.
The center values meaningful relationships, social learning, and the development of compassion, fairness, and care for others. Teachers are encouraged to engage with children as partners in discovery, helping them express ideas, explore materials, and learn from one another.
The site operates Monday through Friday, 8:30am–5:30pm, and is closed for all major holidays as well as Jewish holidays.
At ECE Subhub, we believe in supporting both the children we serve and the educators who make our mission possible. As a long‑term substitute, you will be backed by a team that ensures you feel valued, prepared, and connected. You’ll have opportunities to assist or lead in curriculum implementation, classroom routines, assessments, and relationship‑building with children, families, and staff.
ECE Subhub is the perfect place to grow your career, gain meaningful experience, and make a difference in early childhood education. If you are passionate about working with young children and want to be part of a supportive, fun, and mission‑driven team, we’d love to meet you.
