Job Summary:

The Loss Prevention Associate is responsible for preventing theft, fraud, and shrinkage at our auction pick up center. This role focuses on protecting profitable sales by monitoring store activities, preventing shrinkage, and ensuring auction items are available for pick up

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor store areas and surveillance cameras to detect signs of theft, fraud, or suspicious activity.
• Conduct regular security sweeps and observe customer and employee behavior to prevent losses.
• Take a proactive approach to reduce losses including detecting and preventing issues of theft and dishonesty.
• Ensure a safe shopping environment by addressing security concerns and reporting hazards.
• Respond to security incidents, disturbances, or emergencies in a calm and professional manner.
• Work with local law enforcement when necessary.
• Document and report incidents, theft attempts, and suspicious behavior.
• Assist in gathering evidence for cases involving theft or fraud.
• Check receipts, verify purchases, and monitor exits to prevent shrinkage.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• 1+ years of prior experience in retail loss prevention is required
• Strong observation and analytical skills
• Ability to properly and effectively document cases
• Proficiency with Word and Excel
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
• Knowledge of asset protection strategies and retail security procedures
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment – non-temperature-controlled environment, lifting items/boxes overhead, standing for extended periods of time, squatting, ability to lift and carry up to 40lbs
