Loss Prevention Officer
Department: Property Operations and Maintenance
Reports To: Director of Engineering/ Chief Engineer
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Job Summary
The Loss Prevention Officer is responsible for the safety of the hotel’s guests, employees, and goods on the property. They will monitor security and alarm systems, patrol all areas of the property, and complete incident reports in the event of a security incident.
Education & Experience
· 2+ years' experience in hotel as loss prevention officer or a related field preferred.
· High School diploma or equivalent required.
· CPR/ First Aid Certification Preferred
· Basic Computer Skills, proficiency in Microsoft Suite preferred
· Must have a valid driver’s license for the applicable state.
· Must have an acceptable MVR (Motor Vehicle Driving Record)
· Any security courses or security licenses Recommend
Requirements:
• Frequently walk on even and uneven surfaces with occasional bending and reaching
• Light physical effort: up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or continuously to move, carry, or lift objects.
• Ability to communicate information clearly and effectively.
• Effective problem-solving skills, including anticipating, identifying, and resolving issues.
• Effective communication and resolution skills with co-workers and guests.
• Be able to walk all the property multiple times
• Flexible schedule (Mornings, Afternoons or Night shift)
Job Duties & Functions
· Monitor security footage to ensure the safety of guests, employees, and property.
· Conduct investigations in the event of recorded loss or safety breach, reporting internally and to law enforcement when necessary.
· Preventing theft, vandalism and unauthorized access to the property.
· Assists guests with recovering lost or stolen goods.
· Maintain security measures, monitoring alarms, security systems and employee access
· Perform regular inventory audits to detect discrepancies and reduce the risk of internal and external theft.
· Contribute to the development and implementation of enhanced security protocols and procedures as needed.
· Safely escort disruptive or unauthorized individuals off the premises, ensuring adherence to company guidelines and safety standards.
· Respond swiftly and effectively to emergencies, safety hazards, and security-related incidents.
· Conduct routine safety and security inspections throughout the property to identify and address potential risks.
· Manage property loss and found and the delivery of packages to the property
