Description
POSITION PURPOSE: To provide teacher support with best practices in classroom instruction, planning and overall classroom environment to ensure student academic success.
DIRECT REPORT: Head of Lower School
POSITION OUTCOMES & EXPECTATIONS:
Design and implement professional development learning opportunities for faculty and administrators as needed
Model effective and differentiated instruction for teachers which has a high impact on student learning and achievement
Build strong relationships with faculty across all disciplines
Create a process for ongoing classroom observation and coaching with faculty
? Provide meaningful feedback on lesson plan, classroom experience, and coaching shortly after the observation
Assist teachers in aligning their instruction with strong teaching methods, standards, and student data
Increase teacher effectiveness by improving the quality of teaching and learning through ongoing support to teachers
Equip staff with resources and skills needed to implement effective instructional practices
Provide extra support for new teachers, especially as they onboard their first year at CPA.
Assist teachers and school leaders with implementing instructional decisions based on student data
Provide support to teachers and administrators in analyzing student data
Support the development of high quality professional learning communities
Keep up to date on best practices and new educational research that supports them
Requirements
Knowledge
Understand the Christian view of the world and life as it relates to classroom instruction
Know the developmental characteristics of fourteen to eighteen -year-olds.
Know how to collaborate effectively
Know the principles of teamwork/organizational structures
Education
Bachelor’s degree required
Master’s degree in education strongly preferred
Experience
Five or more years of experience in the classroom as an instructional leader
Experience as a school administrator highly valued
Skills and Abilities
Be able to work collaboratively with faculty and administration to accomplish lower school benchmarks and goals
Possess strong interpersonal relationship skills
Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills
Possess proficient computer and technology skills
Possess ability to evaluate academic needs
Requirements
