The LPN, works under the direction of the Office Manager and Clinical Supervisor, assisting in the care of patients during office visits.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Duties, responsibilities and activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.
Answers patient phone calls and responds to communication from patients through the patient portal.
Documents all phone calls in patient chart; return phone calls to be made by end of business day.
Refills and authorizes prescriptions.
Orders labs, physical therapy, ultrasounds, and x-rays at providers request.
Learns provider protocols and maintains a positive working relationship with all providers.
Attends staff meetings and is involved with peer evaluations, maintains annual skills check list to evaluate stated responsibilities.
Provides excellent customer service to our patients and team members.
Communicates in a positive and professional manner.
Maintains strictest patient confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA regulations and completes required staff training.
Respects the feelings of others and is polite on the job.
Maintains a clean and safe work area.
Keeps supervisor informed of problems or issues.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Experience & Training: To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet the minimum qualifications listed below. These qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform this job.
Required:
Must have graduated with an AA degree or BSN/LPN from an accredited college.
Must have a valid BLS.
Preferred:
One to two years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in orthopedics.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Competency—knowledge, skills and abilities.
Knowledge and ability to operate modern office equipment and software.
Knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy, specifically orthopedics.
Knowledge of current nursing principles, practices, and procedures.
Knowledge of safety principals and infection control in the patient care environment.
Ability to demonstrate strong leadership skills and give clear direction to patients and other staff.
Demonstrates the ability and willingness to learn unfamiliar tasks and equipment operations.
Demonstrates strong organizational and critical thinking skills as well as the ability to multitask.
