Description

Title: LPN – CMA Supervisor

Reports to: Program Director

Status: Exempt

Location: Tulsa Women & Children's Center

Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for delivering nursing services within the scope of LPN licensure to women and their children in a residential treatment center. This position supports consumer wellness, provides motivational and educational guidance, and assists in managing medication administration through the Certified Medication Aide (CMA) team. The LPN trains and oversees CMA staff in accordance with Palmer’s policies to ensure consumer safety, regulatory compliance, and program effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

  • Uphold Palmer’s mission, strategies, and values in all duties and interactions
  • Maintain confidentiality in compliance with agency, state, and federal regulations
  • Model professional behavior, boundaries, respectful communication, and appropriate appearance
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and structured environment for women and children in treatment
  • Provide consumer-centered nursing care in alignment with LPN licensure standards
  • Conduct nursing intake procedures and physical/mental health assessments
  • Transcribe physician orders and administer medications and treatments as directed
  • Collect lab specimens and document medical care per agency protocols
  • Educate and counsel consumers on preventive health and prescribed medications
  • Offer motivational support and guidance to assist consumers in meeting therapeutic goals
  • Prepare and maintain accurate, timely medical and shift-related documentation
  • Participate in client intake and discharge processes; orient new clients to the program
  • Monitor facility operations, consumer well-being, and CMA staff performance during shift
  • Lead and support CMA staff; provide ongoing training on procedures and medication protocols
  • Coordinate staffing needs and shift coverage to maintain safe operations
  • Be willing to work any shift as the need arises
  • Serve as the primary point of contact during assigned shifts; communicate relevant updates to staff, Program Director, BHT Supervisor, clinical team, and emergency services when necessary
  • Ensure scheduled treatment activities are followed and engage consumers during programming
  • Enforce facility policies and rules fairly and consistently
  • Participate in in-service training and maintain core competencies through continuing education, especially in substance use and co-occurring disorders
  • Collaborate with the Program Director, clinical team, psychiatrists, physicians, and other nursing staff to ensure coordinated, effective care
  • Respond to crises and emergencies per agency protocols to ensure safety of all consumers and staff
  • Request supplies and facility maintenance according to Palmer procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Current Oklahoma Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
  • Current First Aid Certification or Health Care Provider Certification (must include Adult and Pediatric)
  • At least 2 years of experience in substance abuse treatment program, preferred
  • Knowledge of integrated, evidence-based care for consumers with co-occurring disorders
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills 
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to lift 30 pounds
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, twist, kneel, bend, and squat throughout shift
  • Ability to view a computer screen for extended periods
