LPN Full-Time Day Shift

DESCRIPTION

• Acts as charge nurse on shift assigned to lead and supervise all staff in providing care to residents and makes decisions in evaluation of resident conditions.


• Gives medications, including IV push and IV piggyback medications.
  


• Starts IV as ordered. (Only LPNs with inservice in IV therapy may start IV).
  


• Takes vital signs and records on medical record those required with certain type medications.
  


• Collects lab specimen and records results.
  


• Administers prescribed procedures such as enemas, etc.
  


• Provides for the physical and emotional well being and care of the residents.
  


• Participates and provides input to other ancillary personnel at weekly Medicare and care plan conference information that will further benefit the resident plan of care.
  


• Chart any information pertinent to resident and does weekly and/or monthly summaries as assigned addressing any resident needs according to the care plan.
  


• Provides and supervises administration of treatments using medications such as Decubitus care, G-tube care and Foley catheter care. All dressings are done using sterile or aseptic technique.
  


• Inserts Foley catheters using sterile technique.

Education/Qualifications/Requirements: 

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Licensed Practical Nursing.
  


• Holds a current State of Georgia License.
  


• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.
  


• 20 hours of education every two (2) years by a Board approved provider in order to maintain LPN license.
  

Experience: 

Prior experience in a long-term care facility preferred but not required.
