LPN (nights)

White Sands Treatment Center of Tampa is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our clinical team. The LPN plays a vital role in providing safe, high-quality nursing care to adult patients undergoing detoxification and treatment. This position works closely with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to support medical and psychiatric care, ensure patient safety, and contribute to individualized treatment planning. 

Key Responsibilities

• Provide routine nursing care and medical screenings under the supervision of the Director of Nursing
   
• Monitor patient vital signs and document accurately in the electronic medical record
   
• Administer and document medications in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols
   
• Support patients through detoxification and treatment with an emphasis on safety and well-being
   
• Communicate patient status, changes, and concerns to medical and clinical staff
   
• Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings as needed
   
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation
   
• Respond to emergency medical situations appropriately
   
• Supervise patient discharge and transfer preparations
   
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission standards, confidentiality laws, and company policies
   
• Maintain awareness of patient whereabouts and report incidents, accidents, or safety concerns
   
• Attend required trainings, in-services, and quality improvement activities
   

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program
   
• Minimum of 1 year of related nursing experience
   

Licensure & Certifications

• Active LPN license (state of practice)
   
• Current CPR certification
   

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of nursing principles and practices
   
• Familiarity with Joint Commission standards
   
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
   
• Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations
   
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
   
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and documentation skills
   

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Primarily indoor, temperature-controlled clinical environment
   
• Potential exposure to patients experiencing behavioral or emotional distress
   
• Possible exposure to bloodborne or airborne pathogens (universal precautions required)
   
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift (up to 50 lbs), and perform routine clinical tasks
   
• Use of standard medical and office equipment
