Essential Functions
Summons and prepares patient for office visit.
Applies principles of fetal growth and development in his/her daily practice
Set up rooms and trays for scheduled procedures.
Assist provider with clinic procedures.
Administer medications and/or vaccines as needed.
Identifies and evaluates the patient needs by way of telephone triage.
Recognizes and responds appropriately to OB/GYN emergencies.
Adheres to Nursing policy and procedures when documenting information in the patient’s medical record
Is an active member of the care team and may include additional duties related to care coordination.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Position requires a great deal of walking, standing, moving and manipulating equipment, as well as lifting and moving objects, equipment and supplies.
It is reasonable to anticipate lifting 20-25 pounds in any given day. Lifting up to 30 pounds may occasionally be required, depending on the specific style or type of care provided and must be able to push/pull a patient sitting in a wheelchair.
The person in this position needs to occasionally move about the inside from the Care Team station to the exam rooms to interact with patients and stock supplies.
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as nebulizer, fax machine, copier and computer printer. Able administer intradermal, subcutaneous, and intramuscular injections.
The person in this position frequently communicates with Clinic staff, such as providers, patients, call center representatives, receptionists, Patient Financial Services, Managed Care, specialty pharmacies, etc .Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
May be exposed to live vaccines, blood-borne pathogens, and bio-hazardous materials.
Must be able to appropriately assist with procedures.
Requirements
Required Education and Experience
Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing and hold an active Florida state license. One (1) year prior experience in OB/GYN required, two (2) years experience preferred.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
CPR certification.
