Job Description - LTD Claims Analyst Remote

Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our team as an LTD Claims Analyst!\n\nAbout the role\n\nIn this role, you\u0027ll make timely, accurate, and customer-focused claim decisions. You\u0027ll collaborate with clinical, vocational, financial, and employer resources to gather and analyze data, compare it to policy terms, and determine claim outcomes. You may also support claim settlement efforts, ensuring optimal outcomes and compliance with regulatory standards.\n\nWhat you will do\n\n * Evaluate new and ongoing LTD claims promptly and accurately.\n * Analyze medical, vocational, and financial information against policy terms and procedural guidelines.\n * Apply contract language and procedural guidelines to claim decisions.\n * Document claim decisions thoroughly in the system.\n * Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.\n * Build and maintain claim management plans for optimal outcomes.\n * Identify and support settlement opportunities as applicable.\n * Collaborate with internal resources (e.g., Actuaries, CPAs, Medical Clinicians) to support claim adjudication.\n * Ensure compliance with ERISA, HIPAA, Fair Claim Settlement Practices Acts, and other statutory regulations.\n * Deliver empathetic, customer-first service throughout all interactions.\n * Foster a collaborative and professional team environment.\n\n\n\nWhy Work at Symetra\n\nHere\u0027s what some of our employees have to say about why they work at Symetra:\n\n\"What I was searching for was a company that genuinely valued my voice--and I found that at Symetra. Check out our Symetra Benefits Overview \n\n\n\nCompensation\n\nSalary Range: $54,600 - $91,000 plus eligibility for annual bonus program \n\nWho You Are\n\n * High School Diploma required; college degree preferred.\n * 3+ years of LTD claims experience required. \n * Experience with LTD Claim settlement efforts is a plus. \n * Solid understanding of disability claim processes, medical terminology, and legal/regulatory frameworks.\n * Proven analytical, negotiation, and conflict management skills.\n * Strong judgment, attention to detail, and a commitment to compassionate service.\n * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. \n * Ability to work independently and as part of a team.\n * Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite. \n * Experience with Fineos a plus. \n * Pursuing a NY Independent Adjuster license or industry designations (e.g., FLMI, CPDM) is a plus.\n\nWe empower inclusion \nAt Symetra, we aspire to be the most inclusive insurance company in the country.
