Job Description - Lube Technician



Job Summary


Runde Chevrolet Buick GMC is looking for a Lube Technician to join our team!  Candidates should have a basic understanding of automotive repair, and be able to perform entry level auto repair/maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, accessory installation, etc.  Certifications or technical training is preferred but not required.  Technicians who wish to advance their skill set will have the opportunity to attend technical training with company financial assistance.  A stipend for tools is also available.  Hours will include 8:30 AM - 6 PM M-F and 8 AM - 12 PM every other Saturday.  Pay rate will vary based on experience and skill level.

Responsibilities




  • Perform basic auto repair and maintenance




  • Perform oil changes and inspections on cars and light duty trucks




  • Test to check systems and components are secure and working properly




  • Isolate the systems or components that might have caused the problem




  • Drive the vehicle for testing purposes and inspect and refill fluid levels as necessary




  • Ensure tire pressure for proper inflation, clean and lubricate fittings as needed




  • Maintain efficiency and accuracy in diagnosing as well as repairing vehicles




  • Repair or replace worn parts ahead of the vehicle’s breakdown or damage




  • Use power tools, machine tools, and common hand tools to perform various tasks




Qualifications




  • Understanding of automobiles and auto repair




  • Effective analytical and communication skills and eagerness to improve




  • Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications




  • High School Diploma or GED (required)




  • ASE Certification/Technical degree (preferred)




  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
