POSITION SUMMARY
This position is accountable for providing maintenance support to field operations for Scott Bridge Company, Inc. Incumbents are responsible for performing oil changes, lubrication and fluid services on heavy equipment, light equipment, trucks and light vehicles.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oil changes, lubrication and fluid services for equipment and vehicles
- Grease all fittings per manufacturer and company maintenance schedules
- Check and top off fluids (engine oil, hydraulic oil, coolant, transmission, differential, etc.)
- Replace oil, fuel, air, and hydraulic filters
- Inspect equipment for leaks, worn components, loose fittings, or other visible issues
- Accurately document all maintenance performed, hours/miles, and materials used
- Report mechanical concerns or safety issues to supervisors on jobs or mechanics
- Maintain a clean and organized service area
- Safely operate service trucks, pumps, and lubrication equipment
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Assist mechanics as needed with basic maintenance tasks
POSITION REQUIRMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic mechanical knowledge of vehicles or heavy equipment
- Ability to follow maintenance schedules and manufacturer specifications
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to travel out of town for a week at a time
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in outdoor conditions
- Ability to safely operate heavy equipment
PHYISCAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
The incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation.
The individual must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required. This includes hard hat, safety glasses, respirators, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, personal flotation devices, or other protective equipment as required by the work performed and location the work is being done.
In addition, Lube Technician must be capable of:
- Standing, stooping, kneeling, squatting, climbing or sitting for long periods of time.
- Repetitive movements by feet, shoulders, arms, writs, hands and back in performance work.
- Working in confined spaces
- Lifting 50 lb. objects as required
- Carrying 50 lb. objects as required
- Adapting to extreme temperature changes
- Adapting to outdoor conditions and prolonged exposure
- Remaining calm during emergencies and respond appropriately as directed by the circumstances of the incident.
