Lube Technician

Job Description - Lube Technician




A lube technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance on vehicles, primarily focusing on lubrication and fluid-related services. This includes tasks like oil changes, fluid level checks and refills (oil, transmission fluid, brake fluid, etc.), filter replacements, and tire rotations. They also conduct visual inspections to identify potential issues and may perform minor repairs like bulb or fuse replacements. 



 







Key Responsibilities:




  • Fluid Maintenance: Draining and replacing engine oil and filters, checking and filling various automotive fluids (coolant, brake fluid, transmission fluid, etc.). 



     





  • Filter Replacements: Replacing air, oil, and cabin filters. 



     






Tire Services: Performing tire rotations and checking tire pressure. 



 





Visual Inspections: Examining vehicles for leaks, wear and tear, and other potential problems. 



 





Minor Repairs: Replacing light bulbs, fuses, and other minor components. 



 





Lubrication: Applying lubricants to moving parts of the engine and other components. 



 





Customer Service: Explaining services, recommending repairs, and potentially handling payments. 



 





Safety Compliance: Following safety procedures and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. 



 





Equipment Operation: Safely using tools and equipment related to vehicle maintenance. 



 





Inventory Management: Maintaining stock levels of necessary fluids and parts. 



 








Skills and Qualifications:





Technical Knowledge: Understanding of automotive systems and components, especially related to fluids and lubrication. 



 





Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks and minor repairs. 



 





Customer Service Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with customers and explain services. 



 





Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks. 



 





Physical Stamina: Ability to perform tasks that may involve bending, lifting, and working in awkward positions. 



 





Safety Awareness: Understanding and adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
