Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented, client-focused Sales Representative to manage and grow furniture sales from our professionally staged properties. This role is responsible for responding to all inquiries regarding the purchase of staged inventory, conducting on-site and remote sales consultations, coordinating pricing and invoicing, and ensuring a seamless customer experience from inquiry to delivery. The right candidate has strong sales acumen, excellent follow-through, and a passion for design and client service.

Key Responsibilities - Sales & Client Interaction

  • Receive and respond to all furniture inquiries from various channels, including staged home visitors, Houzz, social media, the MBH “Home” inbox, real estate agents, phone calls, and emails
  • Establish one-on-one communication with each interested buyer to determine interest, provide pricing, and negotiate the sale or discount as appropriate
  • Proactively reach out to agents of MBH homes in escrow to offer furniture sales and connect with buyers or their agents to present options
  • Conduct on-site meetings at MBH staged homes to walk clients through available furniture, tag items to stay, and upsell additional inventory or services
  • Upsell during on-site visits by recommending additional pieces, additional services such as InstaHome or interior design, or household packages

Sales Process Coordination

  • Collaborate between departments to create and send invoices, collect payment, and coordinate deliveries or pickups
  • Tag and track inventory items selected by clients; ensure accurate recordkeeping of what stays and what returns to the warehouse
  • Attend move-outs or pickups to verify the correct items remain with the property and client
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of MBH inventory, including condition, availability, and pricing
  • Accurately assess and assign any conversion or change fees to the client during the transition process

Client Experience & Relationship Management

  • Provide prompt and professional responses throughout the entire sales and delivery process
  • Drive sales through a consultative, service-driven approach, ensuring clients feel supported and informed
  • Build rapport with buyers and agents, creating urgency and influencing timely decision-making
  • Maintain clear, courteous, and consistent communication to support long-term client relationships

Additional Duties

  • Maintain accurate CRM records and documentation of all interactions and sales
  • Participate in special projects or assignments as directed by upper management
  • Represent MBH professionally at all times, both on the phone and in person

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Interior Design, or equivalent work experience
  • Prior experience in sales, home staging, real estate, design, or a related field strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of sales, design, scheduling, and accounting workflows is required
  • Experience with Salesforce, FileMaker, scheduling tools, and accounting software highly desirable

  • Excellent phone and in-person communication skills with strong etiquette
  • High level of responsiveness and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to close sales and influence client decisions
  • Deep understanding of MBH's services, staged inventory, and product offerings
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid work schedule (in-office, and on-site client meetings)
  • Local travel to MBH staged homes and client locations as required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $63,000.00 - $66,000.00 per year
