Description

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Room patients and obtain vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height, weight, and oxygen saturation.
  • Document patient medical history, medications, allergies, and chief complaints.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
  • Assist providers during examinations and minor procedures.
  • Administer injections, medications, vaccines, and treatments as authorized and within scope of practice.
  • Perform specimen collection, point-of-care testing, EKGs, and other diagnostic procedures as directed.
  • Provide patient education and follow-up instructions.
  • Clean, sterilize, and maintain exam rooms and medical equipment.
  • Monitor and maintain medical supplies and inventory.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Schedule patient appointments and manage provider calendars.
  • Answer telephone calls and respond to patient inquiries professionally.
  • Process referrals, prior authorizations, and prescription refill requests.
  • Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and eligibility.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Assist with patient check-in and check-out as needed.
  • Collect and document required patient forms and consents.

Compliance and Safety

  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards.
  • Follow infection control and OSHA guidelines.
  • Maintain compliance with clinic policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff training.

Requirements

 Qualifications & Education:

  • Employee completes initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by service line, facility and department/unit which are specific to the needs of the patient population served as applicable. 
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • One year of MA experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday. 
  • Must be able to stand and sit for extended periods of time. 
  • Must be able to bend, squat, push, stoop, lift and pull as needed especially in fulfilling job responsibilities. 
  • Occasional heavy lifting when moving or supporting patients who may suddenly become weak or helpless.

Work Schedule:

  • Day Shift 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday-Friday
