JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary

This role involves setting up and operating various tools and equipment, performing layout and inspection tasks, maintaining inventory and machinery, and providing guidance to junior operators, all while ensuring quality standards and working independently.

Essential Job Responsibilities  

• Performs layout duties for other operators
• Sets up various hand, power, and machine tools for self and other operators
• Operates mechanized material handling equipment
• Services and maintains equipment
• Maintains inventory levels for production aids
• Instructs “B” and “C” operators
• Performs in-process inspection and quality assurance tasks
• Operates without instruction
• Performs sundry duties as required and assigned

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities 

· Ability to read and interpret shop drawings

· Basic math knowledge which includes the use of measuring tools

Competency

· Ability to work in an environment that produces excellent quality and quantity work

· Ability to organize and prioritize jobs

· Ability to communicate – clearly and comprehensively

Working Conditions 

Physical Requirements

· Able to push, carry, lift, and move materials up to 40 pounds.

· Able to walk across a production facility.

Work Environment 

· Typical production environment.

· Willing and able to work additional hours as needed to ensure responsibilities are met.

Minimum Qualifications

· High School Diploma or GED

· Prior experience in machine operation and reading shop prints

· Familiar with power tools and hand tools

· Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus.
