Job Description

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Machine Control Model Builder opening as a remote/hybrid position reporting to the Rochester office. As a Machine Control Model Builder for LaBella, you will be asked to develop machine control quality 3D surface models for GPS-enabled machine guidance systems, as well as working with the latest technology in stringless/stakeless construction technology, including asphalt/concrete paving, and road resurfacing technologies. You will be asked to communicate with clients around the country as well as design engineers to develop solutions to keep project progress moving forward. You will be working under the direction of Licensed Professional Surveyors.

Responsibilities

• This is primarily a remote position with field assignments as required.
• Develop 3D surface models, and alignments for use in machine control systems (Trimble, Topcon, Leica, etc.)
• Develop Stringless Curb alignments for use in Machine Control Systems.
• Develop 3D paving models for use with Topcon RDMC software.
• Perform Site Localizations on an as-needed basis.
• Terrestrial and Mobile Laser scan extraction.
• Provide field crews with stakeout calculations for civil, heavy highway & building projects.
• Preparation of as-built drawings.
• Perform other construction survey related duties as assigned.
• Maintaining quality of data in the office; independently perform accurate simple calculation as needed to complete surveys.
• Completing analysis of data reduction, computations, and mapping.
• Continually advance knowledge with upgrades in technology, equipment, and software.
• Ability to operate advanced survey technology including GPS, Robotic Total Stations, digital and differential levels, UAV, high-definition scanners, and data collections devices a plus.
• Build client relationships.

• Minimum two years’ experience with a multitude of CAD platforms.
• Ability to read and comprehend construction plan documents.
• Experience as a Survey Crew Chief on construction projects a plus.
• Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Proficiency with the Trimble family of surveying equipment is a plus.
• Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, Carlson, Revit and Inroads software is a plus.
• Ability to interpret design and construction plans.
• Self-motivated, self-starter with the ability to work in a team environment and independently.
• Maintain a current driver’s license in good standing and able to operate company owned vehicles.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Salary Range: $25-$32/hr.
The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.
