SLB Ville Platte is looking for a skilled tradesperson in the Ville Platte, LA area that specializes in the installation, maintenance, and repair of instrumentation and control systems and equipment necessary for the operation of CNC Machines.\n\nIndustrial Controls Technician installs, maintains, and repairs electrical, instrumentation, and controls equipment. This position requires extensive knowledge of instrumentation and controls components as well as electrical safety codes and regulations. They must be professional, technical, and mechanically proficient.\n\nTasks performed by the Controls Technician on CNC Machinery can often be physically demanding. In order to install and repair equipment, they may need to kneel, crawl, climb, and stand for extended periods of time. They must also be able to operate tools in close proximity to electrical components.\n\nControls Technicians must also be able to understand and make decisions based on technical documents, such as blueprints, schematics, and written or verbal instructions. They must also be motivated to work on their own and as part of a team. Strong communication skills are a necessary part of this position and be capable of working with limited supervision.\n\nKey Job Responsibilities\n\nThis position requires safe work habits and performance, advocacy for safe work conditions, ability to perform risk analysis and determine safe methods for all conditions encountered.\n\nAbility to read and interpret machine prints and schematics for electrical, controls and instrumentation, and fluid power systems\n\nDemonstrate knowledge and practices for proper task planning from establishment of job scope to determination of materials/part needs and proper sequence for execution of the task.\n\nFamiliarity with CNC Mills, Grinders, and Lathes\n\nKnowledge and experience with CNC control systems, variable frequency drives, PLC\u2019s, and relay control systems. Controls manufacturers such as Siemens, Fanuc, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, and ABB.\n\nCapable of troubleshooting complex machines and process problems following a logical approach to identify and determine corrective actions, including root cause analysis of failures.\n\nAssist in mechanical repairs and replacements involving ball screws, spindles, main spindle bearings, axis scales, and conveyors; as well as machine leveling and alignments.\n\n * 3-5 years\u2019 relevant experience required.\n * CNC machine maintenance experience preferred.\n * Must have the legal right to work and reside in the United States without visa sponsorship.\n\n\n
