Machine Operator

Description

Seeking an individual for Press Operator on our day shift.  Shift runs Monday-Thursday, 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with occasional required OT until 5 PM.    Additional OT may also available.  

The Press Operator position is responsible for running one of our hydraulic press machines and directing their assigned material handler. This person will understand the customer and machine requirements and will be trained to program the press settings for things like speed and material quantities. Prior experience in manufacturing/machine operation a must.  

Requirements

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Interpret Manufacturing schedule for those specifications and make adjustments to the press to produce product meeting those specifications
2. Complete Daily Production Report fully including weight measurements, products produced, quantity good and defective and batch number
3. Approximate the weight of each batch by weighing a minimum of 10% of each batch.
4. Communicate schedule status, safety, quality, productivity, and maintenance issues to Production Supervisor.
5. Complete PMP with assistance of Production Supervisor and Maintenance Supervisor.
6. Keep track of supplies needed to run department and communicate needs to Production Supervisor.
7. Keep area clean and organized according to the direction of Plant Manager and Production Supervisor.
8. Unload and load incoming and outgoing freight as trained and required. Alert Production Supervisor if not able to complete this task.
9. Maintain equipment in running condition with release fluid and lubricants where needed.
10. Ensure the supply of glass to the press you are running by communicating with the glasscutter and/or Production Supervisor.
11. Ensure mold setters are completing their function on the press – communicate any concerns to the Production Supervisor.
12. Ensure products leaving press department are labeled with specified Pallet Label and placed in the proper WIP location in the Finishing Department
13. Ensure mold setters are completing their functions on the press and communicate any concerns to the Production      Supervisor
14. Assist Production Supervisor with performance evaluations for mold setters and glasscutters
15. Complete all safety training and score within SAS standard requirements.
16. Participate in committees as requested.
17.  Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service.
18. Conducts self in the presence of customers and community so as to present a professional image of SpaceAge Synthetics.
