SMS Staffing Inc. is Hiring Immediately for skilled Machine Operators in Columbia, IL (East St. Louis, MO area)!

Job Title: Machine Operator
Job Location: Columbia, IL (just outside East St. Louis, MO)
Job Type: Temp to Hire
Pay: $16.00 to $16.75/Hr. (depending on Shift)
Shift Structure: 
1st Shift, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday to Thursday
2nd Shift, 4:00 PM - 2:45 AM, Monday to Thursday
40 hours per week 

The role of the Machine Operator: 

● Set up and operate machines based on work orders (written or verbal)
● Use gauges and hand tools to make adjustments, materials, and monitor machine performance throughout the run.
● Perform preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting
● Complete changeovers and record operational data
● Lifting items up to 50 lbs regularly; occasionally 100+ lbs with assistance
● Standing, bending, and moving throughout your shift
● Use of vision and coordination to monitor equipment and ensure product quality

About the Machine Operator:
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

● At least 6 months of machine operation or manufacturing experience preferred
● Able to read and follow job instructions and material specifications
● Comfortable using hand tools and measuring instruments
● Willingness to learn and grow in a hands-on environment
