The Hirsch Operator I is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of Hirsch and Boiler machines to produce high-quality first, second, and third-pass beads. This role ensures that all beads meet established quality standards, including size and integrity requirements, while adhering to safety and operational protocols. Oversight and monitoring of preventative maintenance on associated equipment is essential, along with the quality of the process/ output of beads per specifications.

Shift Times: 7:00AM - 3:30PM, Monday - Friday. Flexibility in schedule is desired.
Pay Schedule: Weekly
Pay: $18.00/hr
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL DO
Demonstrate the Core Values of Comfort Research in daily actions, execution of tasks, and interactions with others.
Operate the Boiler and its accessory equipment safely and efficiently.
Monitor the water softener system and maintain proper chemical balance in the Boiler water.
Operate the Hirsch machine to produce high-quality beads based on product specifications.
Regularly inspect and monitor bead size and integrity at assigned intervals.
Record Bean Density Log data and report density quality to Comfort Research Quality Assurance.
Identify, document, and adjust processes when Bean Density falls outside control limits.
Coordinate with Supply Chain to plan raw material schedules based on production forecasts.
Oversee and monitor the Preventative Maintenance Schedule for equipment.
Track raw material inventory levels and coordinate with the Inventory Team for cycle counts and finished goods tracking.
Assist the Inventory Team with receiving raw materials, ensuring quality inspections are completed and logged according to Comfort Research quality control standards.
Strictly adhere to Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures when required.
Ensure FIFO (First-In, First-Out) inventory rotation to maintain material efficiency.
Communicate any mechanical issues, raw material shortages, or production concerns to the Team Leader or Operations Manager promptly.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, following 6S and workplace safety standards.
Perform housekeeping duties to ensure the safety and cleanliness of the work area.
Support Production team in shared goals and initiatives.

Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent.
3 years of general manufacturing experience.
2-3 years of related machine operation experience.
Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Ability to read and understand job aids and other instructional materials printed in English is preferred.
Good verbal communication skills.
Ability to move and manipulate products/materials weighing up to 50 pounds, involving frequent twisting, lifting, turning, and bending.
Ability to continuously pull, push, and tug materials.
Ability to stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive motions for the duration of the shift
Ability to obtain a Comfort Research Forklift license
Basic computer proficiency
Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems is preferred.
