Job Description - Machine Operator (Crane) - 3rd Shift

Eaton\u2019s IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Machine Operator (Crane) - 3rd Shift to join our team in Middlesex, NC!\n\nThe core hours are 11 pm - 7:30 am.\n\nThe hourly rate for this position is $24.04 per hour + $0.50 per hour shift premium.\n\nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nThe Machine Operator (Crane) is responsible for setting up and operating braiders, wire winders and yarn winders. This includes but is not limited to operating overhead crane to move hose, ensuring braiders are set up correctly and running properly, and running wire and yarn to specifications. \n \n\n\nHome Job Areas: \n\u2022 Braider 1 \n\u2022 Braider 2 \n\u2022 Braider 3 and 7 \n\u2022 Wire winders \n\u2022 Magnatech Yarn Winder and Herzog Yarn Winder\n\nIn this role, you will:\n\n * Move materials and carriers based on work order and set up sheets to work station\n * Set up braider: string up carriers, loading carriers onto braiders, pull wire from carrier to hook, feed mandrel/hose into the braider, set up layline printer and tape machine\n * Complete quality checks on braided hose, this includes pick counts, outer diameter and inner diameter checks and lay line verification\n * Place braider hose on pallets\n * Strip and set-up winders, be able to perform daily maintenance on wire winder which includes tension checks, roller checks and break pad changes etc.\n * Operate over to bake wire\n * Move wire or yarn from storage to work area based on router and work order\n * Use over head hoist to lift spools of wire onto wire winders\n * Pull catenary to ensure wire meets specified quality standards\n * Proof test samples of finished hose \n * Load and strip PTFE tubing from steel mandrels before/after braiding. Utilize overhead crane to safely move mandrels to/from braiders and transport poles and product through the department.\n * Perform duties relative to production in the assigned area and is able to operate all equipment and machinery in the assigned area.\n * Produce a quality product, safely, on-time, and with the least cost possible.\n * Review work orders, specifications or instructions to determine material, ingredients, procedures, components and settings. Accurately record data on process routers.\n * Accurately complete computer transactions as necessary (labor \u0026 scrap transactions, inventory disbursements \u0026 cycle counts, etc.).\n * Participate in cell/team activities including, but not limited to, team meetings, problem-solving, CI events, etc.\n * Maintain a safe, clean and orderly work environment through effective housekeeping, 5S+ and TPM practices\n * Follow all plant, safety, and environmental rules and regulations. Support plant lean, safety, quality and continuous improvement efforts.\n * Model the Eaton ethical conduct policy, Eaton Leadership Model, the Eaton Values and Philosophy, and comply with all other corporate, plant, and regulatory policies and regulations as applicable.\n * Perform all other duties as required.\n\n\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nRequired (Basic) Qualifications:\n\n * High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.\n * Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience\n * Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. \u0027Green Card Holder\u0027), Political Asylee, or Refugee. \n \n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * 3+ years of manufacturing experience\n * 1 year experience with computer transactions in ERP system\n * 1 year experience with overhead crane\n * 1 year of experience working in aerospace manufacturing\n\n\n\n## Skills:\n\n * Basic math skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving, prioritization, interpersonal and decision-making skills.\n * Strong attention to detail\n * Ability to work on a team\n * Ability to learn computer transactions and learn and successfully operate production equipment\n * Ability to lift up to 30 pounds unaided with or without reasonable accommodation.\n\n\n\n#LI-SK1\n\nWe are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
