Machine Operator II

SUMMARY

 The Machine Operator II is an experienced production role responsible for operating 3–4 machines or skilled machine(s) that require specialized knowledge. This position emphasizes advanced machine operation, minor troubleshooting, and ensures efficient and safe workflow across multiple production lines or specialized equipment. The Machine Operator II is expected to follow established procedures while operating the production equipment. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Operates 3–4 production machines or skilled equipment requiring advanced techniques.

2. Sets up machines for different product runs, including tooling changes and calibrations.

3. Conducts routine cleaning, preventative maintenance, and resolves basic issues independently.

4. Maintains consistent product quality by performing in-process inspections and adjustments.

5. Trains and supports Machine Operator I employees as needed. 

6. Records production data accurately and monitors machine performance metrics. 

7. Follows all safety protocols, including use of personal protective equipment.

8. Assists in material handling and staging for assigned machines as needed.

9. Communicates any equipment issues or safety concerns to the supervisor promptly.

10. Support continuous improvement and participates in training initiatives.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

· High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

· Minimum 1–2 years of machine operation experience in a manufacturing setting.

· Proficient in using production equipment and following safety procedures. 

· Mechanical aptitude and demonstrated ability to learn new machinery. 

· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

· Ability to follow detailed processes and procedures.

· A team player with a strong work ethic and the ability to work effectively under minimal supervision. 

LANGUAGE SKILLS 

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business publications. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to operate a computer, and must have the capacity to learn technical concepts related to production machine operation.
