Machine Operator II- Surface Mount

Work schedule: 6 am to 4:30 pm Monday - Thursday 

Job Summary

To set up and run jobs on the surface mount machines to completion as indicated in customer specifications.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Sets the machine up and runs the job until complete as indicated by the customer specifications.
• Inspects work to ensure components are in correct location and polarities are correct to meet customer requirements.
• Performs preventative maintenance on machine to allow for ultimate productivity of machine requirements.
• Responsible for running and monitoring the quality on multiple machines.
• Responsible for tracking time spent on specific jobs by recording time on a time sheet.
• Contributes to maintaining a safe work environment by following safety policies and procedures, reporting any safety concerns, and participating in any scheduled stretch breaks.
• Actively participates in quality efforts and support the Virtex quality policy through accountable action.
• Responsible for compliance to the Virtex Quality Management System and other regulatory and statutory requirements as required by the customer.
• Act as an authorized agent to stop production when nonconformances are noted.
• Accountable for accepting responsibility for continuous on the job training by actively participating in training put on by designated Virtex employees and/or any outside service.

Education/Experience

• High School diploma or General Education degree (GED) preferred, or related work experience
• SMT Machine or related machine operation experience, 1-3 years’ experience preferred

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities

• Due to ITAR Restrictions, US Citizenship or green card is required. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively as a team player.
• Ability to read and understand technical documents such as standard operation procedures and other related documents.
• Ability to perform basic troubleshooting on surface mount machines.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.    
• Ability to lift, push and pull 10 to 45 pounds.
• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and running machines
• Must have good eyesight, as well as the ability to adjust focus and differentiate between colors.
• Flexibility to work extra hours when needed, including weekends
