Job Description - Machine Operator (Spiral) - Overnight

Eaton\u2019s IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Machine Operator (Spiral) - Overnight to join our team in Middlesex, NC!\n\nThis is an overnight role that will work 4 10\u0027s: 8 pm - 6:30 am, Monday - Thursday.\n\nThe hourly rate for this position is $23.12 per hour + $0.50 per hour shift premium.\n\nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nThe Machine Operator (Spiral) is responsible for setting up and operating wire winders to produce a spiral wrap over Teflon\u00ae tubing. They set up and operate braiders for PTFE and the larger diameter hose. They complete complex set-ups with precise and tighter tolerances. Prep and clean mandrels, operate Pole-Up \u0026 Strip-Out and operate overhead crane, and operate inline proof tester as needed. \n\nHome Job Areas: \n\u2022 Braider 5 \n\u2022 Wire Winder 4 and 8 \n\u2022 Inline Proof Tester\n\nIn this function, you will:\n\n * Move materials and carriers based on work order and set up sheets to work station\n * Set up braider: string up carriers, loading carriers onto braiders, pull wire from carrier and string up die per specifications, feed mandrel/hose into the braider, set up tape machine\n * Complete quality checks on braided hose, this includes pick counts, outer diameter, high wires, score lines\n * Strip and set-up winders, be able to perform daily maintenance on wire winder which includes tension checks, roller checks and break pad changes etc.\n * Pull catenary to ensure wire meets specified quality standards\n * Proof test samples of finished hose. Proof test built hose on inline proof tester.\n * Load and strip PTFE tubing from steel mandrels before/after braiding. \n * Safely utilize overhead crane to move mandrels to/from braiders and departments. \n * Operate oven to bake wire\n * Use overhead hoist to lift spools of wire onto wire winders\n * Move wire and tape from storage to work area based on router and work order\n * Coil and place braided hose on pallets for proof testing\n * Perform duties relative to production in the assigned area and is able to operate all equipment and machinery in the assigned area.\n * Produce a quality product, safely, on-time, and with the least cost possible.\n * Review work orders, specifications or instructions to determine material, ingredients, procedures, components and settings. Accurately record data on process travelers.\n * Accurately complete computer transactions as necessary (labor \u0026 scrap transactions, inventory disbursements \u0026 cycle counts, etc.).\n * Participate in cell/team activities including, but not limited to, team meetings, problem-solving, CI events, etc.\n * Maintain a safe, clean and orderly work environment through effective housekeeping, 5S+ and TPM practices\n * Follow all plant, safety, and environmental rules and regulations. Support plant lean, safety, quality and continuous improvement efforts.\n * Model the Eaton ethical conduct policy, Eaton Leadership Model, the Eaton Values and Philosophy, and comply with all other corporate, plant, and regulatory policies and regulations as applicable.\n * Perform all other duties as required.\n\n\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nRequired (Basic) Qualifications:\n\n * High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.\n * Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience\n * Minimum of 1 year of experience using hand and power tools\n * Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. \u0027Green Card Holder\u0027), Political Asylee, or Refugee. \n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Minimum of 1 year experience with computer transactions in ERP system\n * Minimum of 1 year experience operating an overhead crane\n * Minimum of 1 year of experience working in aerospace manufacturing\n\n\n\n## Skills:\n\n * Basic math skills, attention to detail, and strong communication and interpersonal skills.\n * Good problem-solving, prioritization and decision-making skills.\n * Ability to work on a team\n * Ability to learn computer transactions and learn how to operate production equipment successfully.\n * Ability to lift 30 pounds unaided with or without reasonable accommodation.\n\n\n\nSafety Responsibilities \n\u2022 Know and follow established job specific and facility wide health and safety procedures. \n\u2022 Bring health and safety issues, unsafe acts and safety suggestions to management\u2019s attention and correct those they can. \n\u2022 Actively participate in accident, injury and illness prevention activities: \n\u2022 Assist in developing work station risk assessments \n\u2022 Identify and correct hazards and unsafe conditions. \n\u2022 Accident, near-miss accident or potential hazard investigations. \n\u2022 Actively participate in health and safety training and demonstrate competency based on training received. \n\u2022 Participate actively in providing suggestions for the health and safety program improvement. \n\u2022 Know and implement regulatory compliance requirements in designated work area.\n\nWorking Conditions: \n \n\n\n * Located in a comfortable indoor area.
