Machine Operator - Urgent

This position involves the setup and operation of the Brake Press or the Roll Form, along with performing various laborer/expediter activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Brake Press
• Clean, deburr, grind and torch machine parts as needed.
• Read production schedule and work orders to determine items to be bent, formed or straightened.
• Set-up and operate heavy duty brake press to bend, form and straighten metal plates and metal extrusions according to specifications.
Roll Form
• Manage a roll forming line and machine, as well as any secondary equipment needed for the job.
• Roll forming is a process where a long strip of metal is manipulated into the desired shape.
• Perform setup work to ensure all materials are where they should be, check the label of each material to be sure it's correct, help stack products after you process them, and otherwise ensure the roll forming machine continues to operate as intended.
• Clean the machine, add or switch lubricants, check the coil on materials about to go through.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Performs work under direct supervision.
• Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
• Possesses beginning to working knowledge of subject matter.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
• Minimum of 6 to 12 months related experience and/or training in a manufacturing environment.
• Previous experience using similar machines preferred.
• Blueprint reading skills required.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, procedures, etc.

• Continuous standing and walking.

• Must carry 1 to 35 pounds intermittently. 36 pounds or more lifting device available.
• Intermittent climbing; reaching above; and lifting 20-35 pounds.
• Seldom crouching; lifting over 35 pounds without assistance; repetitive motion of hand/wrist; working at heights; or laying in a prone position.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Exposure to typical manufacturing areas is required and will require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection.
• Manual dexterity and mobility to move within plant/area as assigned.
• Exposure to climate conditions must be able to withstand periods of heat and cold.
