Machine Operator-Twist Drills-1st Shift

Description

Machine shop position focused on the set-up and operation of multi-spindle twist drills. 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Set up and assist in set ups of multiple spindle drill presses. 
• Ability to operate one or more drill presses efficiently
• Proficient on operating hand levers or semi-automatic devices to key position the casting for new drilling.
• Takes initiative keep a neat and orderly shop through 5S and general housekeeping practices
• Knowledge of other machine shop equipment, machines, and instruments (calipers, mics, gauges, etc.)
• Operates tow motors and cranes in a safe and efficient manner
• Understands proper material handling and disposal as well as safe lifting practices
• Follows all safety protocol and wears all necessary PPE for the job as well as encourages the safe work practice of others and reports safety concerns immediately.

Requirements

· High School Diploma or Equivalent.

· Very good physical condition.

· Ability to ascend and descend large equipment.

· Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy items.

· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

· Ability to work with limited supervision to production standards and requirements.

· Availability for shift work and overtime required
