Machine Shop Operator 3rd Shift (11:00pm-7:30am)

Description

Operates production equipment and performs quality checks. Associate inspects and packs parts.

Requirements

Prior to loading parts in the machine, operator should inspect parts for defects.· Completes all dimensional checks to ensure quality of parts. Ensures machines are producing parts within dimensional standards.· Documents all measurements and checks.· Reports any dimensional and quality problems to Team Leader.· After training, will use quality measuring equipment.· Should study and be aware of quality standards.· Visually inspects the parts for material, machining and die casting defects.· Should be aware of updated limit samples.· Ensures the parts are assembles to specification.· Separates part by type.· Completes maintenance check sheets.· Should inspect parts carefully, consistently and in a timely manner.· Ensures lot control is precisely kept while using first in, first out (FIFO).· Completes quantity and quality information sheets as necessary.· Follows all safety rules consistently.· Perform all tasks following all safety guidelines.· Wear necessary safety equipment as required.· Lift 35 pounds · Bending/Squatting · Able to stand in one place for long periods of time· Overtime as required (12 hour days)· Twisting and turning· Manipulation of small parts· Repetitive motion· Attention to detail· Operator quality checks· Capable of working around heavy machinery and loud noise

Marginal Tasks:

· Should be able to perform general mathematics.

· Should perform all other duties as assigned.

· May be required to work any shift.

· May be required to work overtime.

· Keeps work area clean, organized and picked up (COP).
