Job Description - Machine Shop Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Shall facilitate, lead, direct, and train L.E. Jones Co. employees in the production of a high quality product that meets or exceeds customer specifications in a timely and efficient manner.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: High School Education, good organizational skills, able to get along with people and gain their cooperation, and basic knowledge of machining practices.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

Execute production schedules

Respond to contingencies

Determine manpower levels (with the help of scheduling)

Provide training and instruction

Assign work to Bargaining Unit employees

Schedule overtime when needed

Monitor efficiency and correct if necessary

Assist in developing new methods

Improve productivity

Support continuous improvement initiatives (e.g. 5s, CIL, TPM)

Implement company quality policies (SPC) (TS 16949 programs)

Correct quality problems

Understand and Administer labor contract

Understand and Administer company policies (safety, behavioral, work rules)

Keep a productive working atmosphere and relationship

Serve as primary contact to bargaining unit workforce

Manage and record first aid and medical emergencies

Perform lock-up and shut-down procedures at end of week

Supervise monthly and year-end inventory

Handle all incoming phone calls after 4:30 p.m.

Direct 2^nd shift maintenance as needed
