Job Description - Machine Tool Field Service Technician

We are a well-established North American office of a European metal cutting machine tool builder and importer, and are seeking a Machine Tool Service Technician to join our growing team.

Responsibilities:

Travel to customer sites across North America

Troubleshoot and repair production metal cutting machines

Install new machines

Prepare machines in house for demonstration and customer testing

Work with service technicians from the production factories during machine installations

Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on customer machines

Interact with customers regarding service and spare parts needs

Assist in office work such as spare parts shipments, teleservice, etc., when not traveling.

Qualifications:

Experience with machinery - specific experience with metal cutting machinery service a plus.

Understanding of CNC and PLC programming and troubleshooting.

Understanding of hydraulics, pneumatic, and lubrication systems.

Understanding of the function of metal cutting, including cutting tools and processes.

Ability to travel - typically travel is for one week - some times shorter, but occasionally a weekend stay is required. Travel is not anticipated every single week, but should be anticipated to be 50-60% of the time.

Good customer interaction skills

Compensation: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
