Requirements

• 5+ years of production and/or small lot machining experience.
• Proficiency in various machining operations.
• Must have the ability to work from prints and sketches and understand dimensions and required tolerances.
• Candidate must be familiar with a variety of materials, steels, bronze, aluminum, etc.
• Strong experience reading and understanding measuring instruments; micrometer, caliper, inside micrometer.
• Duties include (but are not limited to) manual milling, manual turning, OD grinding, surface grinding as well as secondary/finishing work.
• Must be able to fit and assemble parts to make and repair shafting, jigs, and fixtures, and hydraulic assemblies, applying knowledge of tool design and construction, shop mathematics, metal properties, lay out, machining and assembly procedures.
• Study specifications, such as blueprints, sketches, or descriptions and visualizes product to make recommendations for continuous improvement
• Machining of complex parts in small lots.
• Follow all safety procedures while operating machine tools.
• Ability to lift machined parts manually and position and hold them on surface plate or worktable using devices such as vises, V-blocks, and angle plates.
• Report unusual problems or conditions to management.
• Observe company safety rules and regulations.
• Basic mechanical skills needed.
• Perform, as assigned, other similar or related duties.
• Ability to lift/push/pull at least 50 pounds.
• Ability to work occasional weekend shifts.
