Description

GEO Heat Exchangers, LLC was started in 1996 in order to fill the need for a high quality, fast turnaround heat exchanger repair and fabrication facility. The success and growth over the years has G.E.O. poised for continued growth and success in the future. Under the direction of the Machine Shop Supervisor, the machinist is assigned to drilling flanges, tube sheets and baffles used in fabrication and/or repair of shell and tube sheet exchangers.

Major Duties:

• Sets up job(s) to be drilled.
• Keep log of time spent on jobs.
• Operates manual vertical boring mill, lathe drill press and milling machines.
• Creates ring grooves and reams holes.
• Check hole dimensions as required.
• Sharpens drill bits, removes shavings as needed, refills coolant tank as needed.
• Performs assigned tasks in a safe manner, avoiding all unsafe practices.
• Performs internal quality control of drilling procedures and associated record-keeping and documentation.
• Sets up and perform jobs based on established shop procedures.

Requirements

Qualifications:

· Knowledge- H.S. diploma or equivalent; or equivalent experience; knowledge of machining practices.

· Must pass drug screen and hair follicle test.

Desired Experience:

· Worked in a custom fabrication shop.

· 3-5 years experience utilizing Vertical & Horizontal Boring Mill & Lathe

· Working knowledge of raw materials – know the difference between stainless steel, carbon, duplex, etc. is a plus.
