Machinists at SDC are detail-oriented individuals primarily responsible for manufacturing custom parts according to engineering specifications by operating and maintaining lathe and milling machines.

What You’ll Do:

• Set-up and operate manual Knee Mills, Lathes, and Grinders.
• Manufacture custom parts to detailed engineering prints and 3D models.
• Maintains a safe and clean workspace.
• Works overtime, as needed.
• Other duties, as assigned. 

Requirements

What We’re Looking For:

• 5+ years’ experience as a machinist.
• Experience with machining for low volume manufacturing.
• Knowledge of methods, practices, tools, and equipment of the machinist trade.
• Knowledge of the machining qualities, properties and uses of carbon steel, tool steels, stainless steels, aluminum, and plastics.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D models. 
• Ability to participate and coordinate with a project team.
• Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to operate lift trucks and overhead cranes.
• Some experience with Haas Automation equipment a plus.
