Machinist- 5- Axis- CNC Set Up

Description

Essex Industries, Huntington Beach, manufactures complex, tight tolerance parts, assemblies, and devices for the Aerospace and Medical market sectors. This requires skilled machinists with the ability to set-up, operate, and troubleshoot 5-axis CNC Machines.

Summary of Job:

Set up and operate 5-Axis Mazak mills for tight tolerance Aerospace Components.

Proficiently programs, edits, and performs complex set-ups.

Produce tight tolerance, high precision aerospace parts.

**This is a 1st Shift position**

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to)

• Must be able to perform complex set-ups on 5-Axis Mazak mills utilizing routings, blueprints, and set-up instructions
• Operate machines and hold tolerances (+/- 0.0005”) in accordance with blueprints, written instructions, and design specification.
• Interpret blueprint requirements
• Provide feedback on CNC programs to improve quality and efficiency
• Ensure machines run efficiently and jobs are completed to high quality standards
• Maintain the jigs and fixtures.
• Demonstrate a full commitment to work closely with machinists, engineers, inspectors, programmers, and machine shop supervisors.
• Keep machinery and work area clean, safe, maintained, and organized.
• Minimize scrap and accurately track production.
• Ensure On time Delivery via additional operations such as multiple machine operation, deburring, cleaning, etc. as required.
• Assist in other areas in order to meet the production needs of Momeni and its customers.
• Comply with all PPE and machine guarding as necessary with each job.

Requirements

• Must have the ability to set up and operate 5-Axis Mazak Mills
• 5-7 years of machine shop experience and 2-year trade school completion; or equivalent demonstrated proficiency.
• Must possess strong math skills.
• Capable to read and interpret blueprints.
• Proficient in the use of gauges and measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, height and thread gauges etc.

The pay for this position starts at a minimum of $28.00 per/hr. when the minimum job requirements are met and goes up based upon a candidate’s experience and qualifications in a similar role. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on company performance.
