POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Form-in-Place (FIP) Technician to support the setup, operation, and quality assurance of FIP gasketing processes. This role is critical to ensure the accurate application of FIP material, effective machine setup, and seamless coordination with production and quality teams.  

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Set up FIP machines and prepare them for daily operation.
• Assign FIP material from freezer storage to machines per job requirements.
• Complete setup checklists and prepare in-process inspection sheets.
• Inspect and document the first-piece sample before transitioning the job to operators.
• Verify the first-piece against FIP overlay to ensure proper gasketing is applied.
• Collaborate with machine operators to complete job folders upon run completion.
• Coordinate and move cured parts to either the assembly area or quality lab.
• Perform FIP material transfers into 30cc tubes.
• Consolidate and reclaim usable FIP material as needed.
• Work with the FIP Lead to address issues, reworks, or process adjustments.
• Support operators with daily 5S housekeeping and organization tasks.
• Assist with part preparation, machine operation and assembly when required.
• Accurately log part counts and labor hours into the Epicor ERP system.

Requirements

ITAR REQUIREMENTS:

This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person citizenship status.   

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• Sit/Stand as needed for 8-10 hours a day.
• Must be able to independently lift a maximum of 40 lbs.
• Minimum 18 years old

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
• Familiarity with form-in-place gasketing or dispensing equipment is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to follow technical instructions and inspection criteria.
• Basic computer skills and experience with ERP systems (Epicor experience is a plus).
• Good communication and teamwork skills. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where all areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shops, and other mandatory safety equipment. 
• For the most part, ambient temperatures with typical plant lighting and manufacturing equipment are present throughout the facility. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Sit or stand as needed. 
• Walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. 
• Reaching above shoulder height, below the waist, or lifting as required to reach documents or store materials throughout the workday. 
• Proper lifting techniques required. 
• Ability and comfortability to work in small confine spaces while following proper safety protocol.
