Position Summary

The Waterjet/Saw Operator is responsible for safely operating waterjet cutting equipment, saws, and related machinery to produce parts according to specifications. This role includes reading and interpreting part drawings, ensuring accurate cuts, performing routine maintenance on equipment, and supporting overall production flow. The operator must work efficiently, maintain a safe work environment, and collaborate with team members to meet production goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate waterjet cutting machines (OMAX and FLOW) and various saws and grinders safely and efficiently.
• Learn and use CAD software and machine controllers for programming and operating waterjet equipment.
• Interpret and work from basic part drawings (blueprints).
• Accurately measure and inspect parts using tape measures, micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools.
• Transport and deliver cut materials throughout the facility as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
• Perform basic maintenance and  troubleshooting on equipment as required.
• Enter production data and transactions  into the MRP system accurately.
• Operate a forklift safely for daily material handling.
• Work any shift as required, including overtime as needed to support production demands.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Willingness to work any shift and overtime as needed.
• Strong time management and multitasking  skills; punctual and dependable.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
• Self-motivated with a proactive attitude toward work tasks and problem-solving.
• Safety-conscious and committed to maintaining a safe work environment.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Basic math proficiency.
• Willingness to learn and interpret basic part drawings (blueprints).
• Comfortable operating saws, grinders, and related cutting equipment.
• Willingness to learn and become proficient with OMAX and FLOW CAD software and machine controllers.
• Able to accurately use measuring tools such as tape measures, micrometers, and calipers.
• Willingness to operate a forklift on a daily basis (forklift certification a plus).
• Basic understanding of MRP systems preferred but not required.
