Mailing Operator

Description

The Mailing Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining mailing equipment, such as an inserter or inkjet, to address material, tie into bundles and prepare and package for mailing based on postal regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate various mailing machines
• Sort and tray mail according to postal regulations
• Responsible for the ongoing training and development of team
• Responsible for promoting, enforcing and sustaining safety and look for ways to improve the operation
• Facilitate teamwork on crews and between shifts
• Ensure good housekeeping practices are followed 
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on all assigned equipment
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• 1 – 3+ years of mailing operator experience preferred
• Knowledgeable of mailing and equipment set-up and maintenance procedures 
• Effective communications skills with all levels within the organization
• Has basic computer skills 
• Must be self-motivated, reliable, quality, and safety oriented
• The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
