Mailroom Clerk Job Responsibilities:
Sign for incoming registered or certified mail.
Sort mail by department, location, or category (e.g., bills, notices, personal).
Stamp and record the date of receipt and sender’s name.
Maintain records of incoming packages, including weight, return address, and description.
Collect and prepare correspondence for mailing (e.g., applying appropriate stamps, verifying addresses).
Date stamp incoming checks and scan them into shipping system software.
Email PDFs to the cash team once all checks have been scanned into the shipping system.
Send out FedEx packages using FedEx.com.
Assist IT with sending remote employees' computer equipment via FedEx.
Help out in Facilities if needed or if the Facilities Manager is unavailable (e.g., stocking breakrooms, replacing 5-gallon water jugs).
Greet employees/visitors at the front desk at the end of the day.
Order FedEx supplies.
Requirements
High School Diploma or Equivalent: Basic educational requirement.
Experience in Mailroom Operations: Previous experience in a similar role is highly beneficial.
Proficiency with Mailing Software: Familiarity with FedEx.com and other shipping system software.
Strong Organizational Skills: Ability to sort and manage mail efficiently.
Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in tracking and recording mail and packages.
Time Management Skills: Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Basic Computer Skills: Competence in using email and scanning software.
Physical Stamina: Capability to lift and move packages, including replacing 5-gallon water jugs.
Communication Skills: Clear and professional communication with employees and visitors.
Teamwork and Flexibility: Willingness to assist other departments and adapt to varying tasks.
