The Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES) is seeking an organized, professional and mechanically inclined individual to serve as Mailroom Supervisor. This position will be responsible for planning and directing all agency physical and digital mail handling and equipment. The individual in this position will direct a team of subordinate staff in obtaining, receiving, sorting, scanning, tracking, distributing, preparing, maintaining and disposing of agency mail, and will also oversee the adjustment and maintenance of equipment, including postage meters, mail openers, envelope sealers, inserters, sorters and Multi-Function Devices (MFDs), in order to prevent downtime and service disruptions. Responsibilities include preparing reports and workload forecasts and applying independent judgment in implementing procedures and coordinating mail services activities to maintain security standards and meet tight agency deadlines. The ideal candidate for this position will have excellent organizational skills and extensive experience providing mail services to an organization with 800+ employees.
